Background

Iain holds the position of Engineering Operations Manager at Elite having worked his way up through the company.

Initially after leaving school Iain followed an academic path, studying for a B.Sc. Honours degree in Mathematical Physics at Edinburgh University.  After graduating, he spent a further year studying for a Masters degree in Control Systems Technology at Napier University, Edinburgh.  He graduated with distinction and was immediately offered employment with Elite, where he joined in 1994 as a Graduate Trainee.

He quickly progressed in the company to Systems Engineer, Senior Engineer and then Consultancy Department Manager before taking up his current post early in 2005.  At Elite, Iain has worked on a wide variety of projects across all industry sectors including time abroad in China, USA and Azerbaijan.

Throughout his time at Elite Iain has continued his professional development and has written and presented papers at conferences, such as the PLCOpen conference in Houston, Texas and BARA safety seminar at Warwick University.  Iain is a member of the IEE and a Chartered Engineer.  He also holds the position of Quality Manager at Elite and is head of the development team for Elite's configuration management application, Asset Guardian.

Iain is married with two children and enjoys football, golf and tennis in his spare time.
